Stephen Evans BiographyLiving in Hull, Ma. Award-winning photographer Stephen P. Evans is best known for his breathtaking seascapes and his astonishing ability to depict ordinary subjects in their own true light, transforming them into the extraordinary. His images are so engaging that you don’t need to know the identity of the subject to be able to appreciate the subtle aspects of his most famous photographs such as 9 Gun Rock and Perfect Storm ‘91. He tries to exemplify emotion and feeling; to draw passion from the world. His hope is that the viewer will observe and inquire; to see and not just look. Images sold by Stephen are printed using the giclee process, a highly refined method that produces a greater color range than traditional photographic paper. As part of this process, the original side is scanned, carefully color balanced, and using archival non-fading pigmented inks is then printed onto an archival paper (somerset velvet paper 330gsm), and then matted with high quality materials. To maintain the integrity of the work, no filtration or computer manipulations are employed. What he carefully composed through the viewfinder is what appears on the finished print. A former student of the New England School of Photography, Stephen has been a master of imagery, color and design for the last 25 years. |
