Living on Cape Cod, Barbara began her career as an artist and illustrator in 1991 after finishing a master’s degree in biomedical visualization. Her educational background combined with her travels and career experiences as a zoological curator, whale watch volunteer and veterinary technician have contributed to her deep understanding of many animal species and their environments, which is apparent in her attention to form and detail in her animal illustrations and paintings.
